Where to stay near Orvieto: sleep inside a medieval village

Orvieto is one of Umbria’s most beautiful destinations. But staying nearby does not necessarily mean staying in the city.
Just 10 minutes from Orvieto’s historic centre, Misia is part of Rocca Ripesena, a tiny medieval village set in the Umbrian countryside.
Here, your stay becomes part of the journey.
Instead of traffic, busy streets and searching for parking, you arrive among stone houses, quiet lanes and countryside views. Misia’s rooms and suites are spread through historic buildings within the village, following the Italian idea of an albergo diffuso: hospitality woven into the life and architecture of the place itself.

Close to Orvieto, away from the noise

Misia is around 10 minutes by car from Orvieto and approximately 10 minutes from the Orvieto exit of the A1 motorway.
You can explore the historic centre during the day and return to the quiet of the village in the evening.
Free parking is available nearby, so there is no need to worry about driving into Orvieto’s historic centre or finding parking in town.

Wake up to a homemade breakfast

Mornings at Misia begin slowly.
Breakfast includes cakes baked fresh by Gianna, croissants, bread, cold cuts, fruit and cereals, with eggs prepared on request. Gluten-free and lactose-free options can also be arranged on request.

Who is Misia ideal for?

• a quiet place to stay near Orvieto
• an authentic village experience
• a romantic or slow weekend in Umbria
• a comfortable stop during a road trip through Italy
• a base for exploring Orvieto, Civita di Bagnoregio and the surrounding countryside
• a place where parking is simple and the pace is slower

A car is recommended if you want to explore the area independently.

Stay somewhere that feels part of Umbria

Misia is not simply a hotel near Orvieto.
It is a place where you sleep inside a small Italian village, wake up to silence and breakfast made in the kitchen, and discover a side of Umbria that feels a little less obvious.
